MUDSOCK YOUTH FOOTBALL

Testimonials

From the time I arrived at Fishers HS and began working with our youth football organization, I have been impressed with the level of organization, knowledge and understanding of administrators regarding youth football issues, and the commitment to monitoring and improving safety, coaching methods, and player fundamentals.  Since 2006 when I arrived, I have seen a number of different people take part as board members and coaches.  I have always been impressed with their commitment to making youth football a positive experience for the players and, as a HS head coach, their willingness to work with and listen to me.

I have learned a lot on the football field, and not just how to play football.  All my coaches believed in me, even though I wasn't always the best athlete on the field and they encouraged me to be a leader on the team in other ways.  I learned how to encourage my teammates, work hard and set a good example.  I know my younger brother is going to learn the same things now that he is playing football too.

Fishers-HSE Youth Football is a top-notch program, one of the most organized and well run youth sports programs my kids have had the pleasure to participate in.  My boys have played in the flag and then tackle programs for the past 7 years, and they have enjoyed their experience greatly.  The amount of support and training that coaches receive is outstanding, on aspects of the game ranging from competition, to safety, to sportsmanship, and everything in between.  We've made many close friends along the way, and my boys have developed memories that will last a lifetime.  And most importantly, we've seen young men develop an understanding and love of the game that will serve them well as they pursue their football dreams on the field and beyond.

I have seen a lot of players come through the youth system and go on to do great things at the high school level.  Some player’s were great at the youth level because they had all the ability and desire at a young age, others had to grow and develop as they got older before they became great players.  The bottom line for me is to keep playing and understand that everyone develops at a different pace, it isn’t about where you start but how you finish that really counts!

I have 2 sons who both spent 4 years in the Fishers HSE Youth Football Program.  The years spent playing football was a great experience that taught them valuable life lessons. Learning how to listen and be coached.  Learning how to be a good teammate & being part of a team. Confidence within themselves. Joy of victory & heartbreak of loss. Thrill of competition. Fun of playing an organized sport. The Fishers HSE Youth Football provided positive memories that will stay with them for a long time.

The youth football league meant a lot to me because it helped me learn the basics of football and how to make myself better as a football player. The league was a lot of fun and I really enjoyed playing in it. I think it helped me going into junior high and high school football because I had an advantage going in from the kids that have never played before.
